Alexis Rovner is the co-founder and CEO of 64-x, a company developing recoded organisms that carry out functions and operate in environments that are otherwise inaccessible. As we enter a new age of synthetic biology where we can engineer biological systems in unprecedented ways, we will need a novel class of organisms that can accommodate and enable new functionality and are contained. 64-x’s recoded organisms will act as chassis upon which we can engineer new solutions to problems in bioremediation, biomanufacturing and health. Alexis holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Yale and did her post-doctoral work with George Church at Harvard.
