Dr. David Nunn is a biotechnology professional with over thirty years of experience as an educator, researcher, and inventor in multiple fields including genetic engineering, synthetic biology, nanotechnology, renewable energy and mechanisms of microbial disease. He began his professional career as a professor at the University of Illinois working on bacterial genetics and physiology and after transitioning to the biotechnology sector, has managed research teams at companies like Diversa, Verenium, BP Biofuels, Intrexon and is currently Vice President of Research and Innovation at Conagen. Throughout these endeavors, he has gained expertise in identifying and creating disruptive technologies genome engineering and editing, metabolic engineering, nanotechnology, antimicrobials, and advanced biomaterials and is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and patents in each of the areas.
